Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring C-EFM certification and prior travel assignment experience.

Details

• Labor & Delivery unit position with a 1:2 patient ratio
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:50-07:20)
• Every other weekend required
• Call required, 2 shifts per 6-week schedule
• May float to Mother/Baby unit if qualified
• Uses Cerner charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact or MD) required
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE, and C-EFM through NCC
• ACLS preferred
• 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience preferred, 2 years with strong experience may be considered
• Must have completed at least one previous travel assignment
• Scrub experience preferred
• Charge experience preferred
• Skilled in labor and delivery management including amnioinfusion, high-risk and vaginal delivery assistance, C-section circulation, and hemorrhage/shock response
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Experience with fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery care including antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care
• Support high-risk deliveries, C-section procedures, and postpartum complications such as hemorrhage and pregnancy-induced hypertension
• Administer medications including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Assist with pain management including epidural and PCA use
• Provide newborn care including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and hypoglycemia monitoring
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
• Candidates with previous employment at this health system must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
