Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring C-EFM certification and prior travel assignment experience.
Details
- Labor & Delivery unit position with a 1:2 patient ratio
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:50-07:20)
- Every other weekend required
- Call required, 2 shifts per 6-week schedule
- May float to Mother/Baby unit if qualified
- Uses Cerner charting system
Requirements
- Active RN license (Compact or MD) required
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE, and C-EFM through NCC
- ACLS preferred
- 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience preferred, 2 years with strong experience may be considered
- Must have completed at least one previous travel assignment
- Scrub experience preferred
- Charge experience preferred
- Skilled in labor and delivery management including amnioinfusion, high-risk and vaginal delivery assistance, C-section circulation, and hemorrhage/shock response
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
- Experience with fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive labor and delivery care including antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care
- Support high-risk deliveries, C-section procedures, and postpartum complications such as hemorrhage and pregnancy-induced hypertension
- Administer medications including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and antihypertensives
- Assist with pain management including epidural and PCA use
- Provide newborn care including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and hypoglycemia monitoring
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
- Candidates with previous employment at this health system must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
