Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist with 2+ years of experience and community hospital background for a high-volume acute care hospital.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting with 212 staffed beds
- Works in Adult Acute Care, Adult Outpatient, and Emergency Department settings
- 1:1 patient ratio
- High-volume, fast-paced environment averaging 30-40+ scans per 12-hour shift
- Variable day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (6:00 AM-6:30 PM or 8:00 AM-8:30 PM)
- Self-scheduling based on seniority
- May be asked to pick up voluntary shifts outside contracted hours, including nights and graveyard shifts
- No call requirements
- No floating between units required, though float between sister facilities nearby may be expected
- Uses GE and Toshiba CT equipment along with PACS and Fuji Synapse systems
- Charting via Epic
- Performs abdomen, pelvis, chest, head, spine, and musculoskeletal CT scans
- Special procedures may include aspirations, biopsies, brain perfusion, coronary CTA, drainage, and vascular CTA
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience required
- Community hospital experience required
- ARRT CT or ARRT R certification required (ARRT CT preferred)
- BLS certification required
- CA CRT and CT certifications required
- License required if applicable
- Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Experience with contrast media preparation and administration
- Knowledge of isolation precautions, PPE, and radiation safety protocols
- Must be able to work independently and efficiently
- May be required to perform own patient transport based on staffing needs

- Must be open to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Weekend requirements may exceed every other weekend to meet unit needs
- Free parking available
- Navy blue scrubs for RNs; scrubs provided for L&D/OR staff
- First-time travelers accepted
- Returning staff may reapply after a 3-month break
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of application
- Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a lower bill rate
