Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring 2+ years of PICU experience and a TN or compact RN license.

Details

  • 14-bed PICU with 11 private rooms and one semi-private area of 3 beds
  • Patient population ranges from infants to 21 years old
  • Common diagnoses include DKA, respiratory failure, respiratory distress, pneumonia, status asthmaticus, trauma, sepsis, ingestion, seizures, altered mental status, post-arrest, and post-surgical care
  • Bedside procedures include central line/arterial line placement, chest tube placement, bronchoscopy, and EVD/bolt placement
  • Uses Philips monitors, Servo ventilators, Alaris IV pumps, and Kangaroo feeding pumps
  • 3x12 day shift schedule from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
  • Every other weekend (EOW) required
  • Floating to other units required as needed

Requirements

  • Active TN or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Two professional references required for consideration
  • SSN and DOB required in profile at time of consideration

Additional Information

  • Care for critically ill pediatric patients requiring advanced respiratory, cardiovascular, neurologic, and renal support
  • Manage ventilated patients, chest tubes, EVDs, and central/arterial lines as needed
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
  • Travelers who have oriented at this facility within the past year are not required to reorient
  • RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
