Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift assignment requiring an active IL RN license and at least 2 years of emergency department experience.
Details
- Emergency Department setting within an acute care hospital
- 1:3 patient ratios
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:45-7:15)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- May float between two hospital campuses and to inpatient floors as needed based on facility needs
- Uses EPIC charting system
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required and in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS
- Preferred certifications: CPI, TNCC, ENPC
- RQI cards not accepted for certification verification
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, procedural sedation monitoring, and triage
- Experience with ventilated patients and continuous IV sedation preferred
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care for a wide range of patient populations including trauma, pediatric, cardiac arrest, stroke, STEMI, and behavioral health patients requiring appropriate placement
- Perform or assist with central line insertion, arterial lines, chest tubes, intubations, and post-cardiac arrest hypothermia protocols
- Participate in code blue, code stroke, and code STEMI response teams
- Care for trauma, sexual assault, and mental health patients as part of ER responsibilities
- Magnet-designated facility with 222 staffed beds
- Navy scrubs required
- No local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius of the facility
- Maximum of 7 days RTO within the 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of assignment
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Previous permanent employees of the health system must wait 1 year before returning as a travel clinician
- Travelers who have completed an 18-month assignment must take a 3-month break before returning
