Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - Telemetry for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of experience and IL RN licensure in hand at time of submission.
Details
- Telemetry unit within an acute care Magnet-designated hospital
- Night shift, 3x12 hours, 18:45-07:15
- Patient ratio of 1:5-6
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Float required within scope to 2 South, MS Tele, 3 South, 1C, Shiloh Memorial Hospital, and other units within the facility
- Uses EPIC charting system
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Experience with cardiac drips (management required, titration preferred)
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
- Experience with pre and post cardiac catheterization care
- Experience assisting with bedside procedures including line insertion and thoracentesis
- Skilled in STEMI/NSTEMI and CHF care
- IV therapy and phlebotomy skills including starting and maintaining IVs
- Respiratory care skills including nasal cannula management
Additional Information
- Provide telemetry monitoring and cardiac care for assigned patient population
- Assist with bedside procedures including line insertions and thoracentesis
- Navy scrub color required
- No local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius
- Maximum RTO of 7 days within a 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of assignment
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Standard travelers may stay up to 18 months, followed by a required 3-month break in service
- Permanent employees of the health system must wait 1 year before returning to any facility within the system as a traveler
- No parking costs
