Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring MO or compact RN licensure and prior Med/Surg experience.

Details

• Medical Specialties unit with 57-bed max capacity servicing internal medicine patients with a wide range of diagnoses
• Rooms feature video monitoring, sitter rooms, ceiling lifts, and bariatric accommodations
• Charge nurse and supervisor present on every shift
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
• Average patient ratios of 1:5 days and 1:6 nights, with occasional increases to 1:6 days and 1:7 nights
• Mandatory floating to MS and MS/Tele units
• Cerner charting preferred but not required

Requirements

• Active MO or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required, CPI preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, though 1.5 years may be considered for quality candidates
• Med/Surg experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs
• Ability to work in a healthcare facility open 24/7/365 with routine exposure to contagious illnesses

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to internal medicine patients with a wide range of medical diagnoses
• Rotating shifts, weekend work, and inclement weather coverage required
• Work 50% of holidays that fall within the contract, with flexibility on which holidays are worked to meet this requirement
• RTO not granted specifically for holidays
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible
• Candidates residing 51-74 miles away may be offered at a local rate
