Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy Lab position requiring a CO or compact RN license and prior specialty experience.
Details
- Work in the Endoscopy Lab of a hospital setting
- Provides nursing care for patients undergoing endoscopic and/or invasive procedures with or without sedation
- Uses Epic for charting
- Schedule is four 9-hour day shifts per week (0700-1630)
- Second call rotation Sat/Sun 0700-0700 every five weeks
- First call rotation every five weeks from Friday night until Friday morning (1630-0700)
- May float to other departments within the Peri-Operative umbrella and occasionally to other nursing units based on business need
Requirements
- Active RN license (CO or compact) required, with compact license transferred to CO within 60 days of start
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required, not expiring prior to start
- ASN or Nursing Diploma required
- Minimum 1 year of GI/Endoscopy specialty experience required
- Must be experienced performing the technical portion of GI equipment procedures
- Strong critical thinking, interpersonal, and documentation skills required
Additional Information
- Collaborates with pre-operative RN to assess patient needs and develop individualized plans of care
- Monitors and enforces aseptic technique compliance among the surgical team
- Supports and educates patients and families throughout procedures
- Documents equipment use and supply consumption for accurate charging and inventory control
- Serves as a resource to students and new caregivers
- May be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift
- Permanent staff must be separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
