Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for an acute hospital setting requiring 2 years of case management experience and CA RN licensure.

Details

  • Acute hospital Case Management department
  • 13-week assignment on day shift (5x8, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM)
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • Floating between like units based on facility need
  • No on-call requirements
  • Epic charting system used
  • Accepts local candidates within a 50-mile radius at a lower bill rate

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license (Compact license must be in hand at time of submission)
  • Minimum 2 years of acute hospital Case Management experience including care coordination and discharge planning
  • Prior travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers may be considered with clinical manager approval
  • Experience with admission criteria, appeals and denials, benefits eligibility, care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment/DME ordering, and prior authorizations
  • Familiarity with CMS regulations, DRG, HIPAA guidelines, and The Joint Commission standards
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment, DME ordering, and prior authorizations within an acute hospital setting
  • May be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
  • Free parking provided on first day, with assignment parking details given during orientation
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application
  • Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel employee and must be outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
  • Located in Eureka, California, offering easy access to multiple state and national parks and coastal scenery
