Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for an acute hospital setting requiring 2 years of case management experience and CA RN licensure.
Details
- Acute hospital Case Management department
- 13-week assignment on day shift (5x8, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM)
- Required to work every other weekend
- Floating between like units based on facility need
- No on-call requirements
- Epic charting system used
- Accepts local candidates within a 50-mile radius at a lower bill rate
Requirements
- Active CA RN license (Compact license must be in hand at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of acute hospital Case Management experience including care coordination and discharge planning
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers may be considered with clinical manager approval
- Experience with admission criteria, appeals and denials, benefits eligibility, care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment/DME ordering, and prior authorizations
- Familiarity with CMS regulations, DRG, HIPAA guidelines, and The Joint Commission standards
- Epic EMR experience required
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment, DME ordering, and prior authorizations within an acute hospital setting
- May be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
- Free parking provided on first day, with assignment parking details given during orientation
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel employee and must be outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Located in Eureka, California, offering easy access to multiple state and national parks and coastal scenery
