Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for an acute care hospital, requiring 2 years of acute hospital case management experience and an active CA RN license.
Details
- Acute hospital Case Management/Utilization Review department
- Day shift, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Required to work every other weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating between like units required based on facility need
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active CA RN license (Compact license must be in hand at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of acute hospital case management experience performing care coordination and discharge planning
- Prior travel experience required, though first-time travelers may be considered with clinical manager approval
- Epic charting experience required
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment, DME ordering, prior authorizations, admission criteria review, and appeals and denials management
- Knowledge of CMS guidelines, DRG, HIPAA, and Joint Commission/Core Measures/National Safety Goals required
- Local candidates accepted
- Local radius rule of 50 miles applies
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- First-time travelers may be accepted as a screen with clinical manager approval
- All RTO requests must be submitted at time of application for consideration
- Must be willing to commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
