Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a day-shift role requiring procedural experience and a PA or compact RN license.

Details

• Operating Room unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Floating required to SPU, Pain Center, and PACU
• Pain Center consists of 2 procedure rooms and 5 office rooms
• Patient ratio is 1:4 in Pre/Post and 1:2 in the Procedure Room
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM, Monday-Friday
• No weekend requirements
• No call requirements

Requirements

• Active PA or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience required, including 2 years in specialty
• Procedural experience required (GI/OR/Moderate Sedation)
• Pre/Post op and Outpatient Surgery Center experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• LTAC experience required
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Valid state license or certification required at time of consideration
• Valid professional references and copies of certifications required

Additional Information

• Care for patients experiencing acute, chronic, breakthrough, and neuropathic pain
• Perform and support nerve block procedures including brachial plexus, celiac plexus, epidural, and stellate ganglion blocks
• Manage pharmacological pain interventions including opioids, non-opioids, and adjuvant therapies
• Monitor for complications of regional anesthesia and signs of toxicity or medication misuse
• Provide care to special populations including confused, non-communicative, and older adult patients
• Perform office duties such as discharge instructions, follow-up calls, and medication reconciliation
• Use standardized pain scales including FLACC, Wong-Baker Faces, and numerical rating scales
• Ceil Blue scrubs required
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a different rate
• Local shift differential applies
• No prior travel experience required, first-time travelers may be considered
