Description
American Traveler is hiring a night shift RN for a Post Surgical unit requiring stepdown/PCU and acute care surgical floor experience.
Details
- Post Surgical med/surg unit caring for pre- and post-surgical inpatients
- Care for patients with new drains, wounds, trachs, ostomies, NGT, or DHT
- Includes stepdown level patients
- Patient ratios of 5:1 for surgical patients and 3:1 for stepdown area
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
Requirements
- Active RN license (Oklahoma or multistate compact eNLC) required
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Stepdown/PCU experience required
- Acute care surgical floor experience required
- ENT and/or transplant experience preferred
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
- OR candidates will not be accepted for this role
Additional Information
- Provide direct nursing care to a group of assigned surgical patients, including medication administration and IV/blood product management
- Collaborate with physicians on diagnostic procedures and treatments
- Communicate care plans and discharge information with patients and families
- Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- Facility enforces strict compliance deadlines; onboarding must begin promptly after booking
- Contract extensions are limited to one time for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
