Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring 2 years of solid PCU experience and a CO or compact RN license.

Details

• Mixed acuity progressive care unit caring for a diverse medical-surgical population
• 12-bed high acuity medical-surgical unit with 1:4-5 ratio and 10-bed PCU with 1:3-4 ratio, consistent across day and night shifts
• Rotates to med-surg assignments on the unit as part of the rotation
• 22 total staffed beds
• 3x12 rotating shifts (nights and days), open to straight nights but rotating preferred
• Weekend shifts required per unit needs
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including to sister facilities within the metro region
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active CO or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of solid PCU experience, clearly noted in work history
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube, and high flow nasal cannula management
• Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation/management and telemetry monitoring
• Experience with insulin drip management and wound care/wound vac

Additional Information

• Care for a mixed acuity medical-surgical and progressive care patient population requiring strong teamwork and communication
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Completion of all facility-specific modules required within the first week of assignment
• Maximum of 10 RTO days per 13-week contract, with blackout periods restricting RTO during high-demand weeks
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on relevant experience
• Previous UCHealth employees are subject to eligibility review and may be restricted from consideration
• Returning travelers who completed a full year on assignment must wait at least one year before rebooking
• Local candidates accepted if residing within 75 miles of the facility
