Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Step Down position requiring med/surg or step-down experience and a compact or Oklahoma RN license.
Details
- Work in the Medicine Specialty Step Down unit of a hospital setting
- Care for adult patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex
- Night shift schedule of 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
Requirements
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Med/Surg or Step Down unit experience required
- ICU experience and ACLS certification preferred
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills required
Additional Information
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and document nursing interventions and treatment responses
- Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Administer medications and monitor IV infusions and blood products
- Educate patients and families on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge planning
- Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
- Facility maintains strict compliance deadlines, so onboarding requirements must be completed promptly
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- Travelers may extend only once for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
