Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of general OR circulating and scrubbing experience.
Details
- Work in the General Operating Room department of a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated teaching hospital
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
- Circulate and scrub general surgery cases including Surgical Oncology, Colorectal, MIS (DaVinci), Plastics, Endocrine, Panc/Bili, and Bariatrics
- On-call required, approximately 4-6 call shifts per 4-week period
- Holiday call may be required
- Uses EPIC EMR system
Requirements
- Active SC or Compact RN license required in hand at start of contract
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
- Community hospital experience required
- Must provide own radiation badge (provided by staffing agency)
- Driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- Circulate and scrub a variety of general surgery procedures in a fast-paced OR environment
- During hurricane season (June-November, peak August-September), all staff including travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams
- First-time travelers considered only with 5+ years of relevant experience
- Previous MUSC perm staff (including PRN) must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to be considered a non-local candidate; local candidates considered case-by-case at a reduced rate
- All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application for consideration
