Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry Unit position, requiring a TX or compact RN license and cardiac nursing experience with willingness to precept new hires.

Details

• 30-bed Acute Care Cardiac Telemetry Unit in a hospital setting
• Cares for patients with chest pain, congestive heart failure, advanced heart failure, and syncope
• Supports patients undergoing echocardiograms, stress tests, and diagnostic or interventional heart catheterization
• Handles patients undergoing procedures such as Mitraclip, Watchman, Tykosyn initiation, and TAVR
• Unit overflows to include general Med/Surg and other non-cardiac patients as needed
• Night shift schedule from 18:45 to 07:15
• 13-week assignment length
• Floating to Med/Surg required as needed, with travelers prioritized to float first

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certification through AHA
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
• Cardiac nursing experience strongly preferred
• Must be willing to precept and train new hires, including RN Residents

Additional Information

• Care for cardiac and telemetry patients while helping stabilize staffing on a unit undergoing rebuilding of core staff
• Serve as a resource and mentor to newly hired staff as the unit expands its permanent team
• COVID-19 vaccination is not required
• Local candidates accepted, though a radius rule may apply to determine pay rate eligibility
• Candidates should discuss extension opportunities with their manager approximately 45 days before assignment end date
