Description
American Traveler is hiring a Level IV Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring advanced fetal monitoring and NRP certification.
Details
- Level IV Labor & Delivery unit in a brand new Women & Infants Hospital
- 15-bed L&D unit, 20-bed High Risk Unit, and 8-bed OB Triage
- Night shift schedule from 19:00-07:30
- 36 hours per week with every third weekend required
- Holiday rotation required
- Possible float to a nearby L&D unit if needed
- Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines with 1:1 ratio in active labor and 2:1 in early/latent labor
- Charge nurse responsibilities in both L&D and High Risk Unit, plus baby nurse duties for deliveries
Requirements
- Active RN license (IN or Compact) required
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
- BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA)
- NRP certification required (AHA/American Academy of Pediatrics)
- NRP Advanced certification required
- Advanced external fetal monitoring competency required
- Familiarity with Magnesium and insulin drips required
- Fetal monitoring certification (AWHONN, Relias, or equivalent) required within the past 2 years if not covered by competency exam
- Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
- US Social Security Number and US home address required
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Labor & Delivery, High Risk, and OB Triage setting
- Serve as charge nurse across multiple units as needed
- Two-shift orientation provided
- Strong attendance commitment required with no tolerance for call-offs
- Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate depending on distance from the facility
- First-time travelers may be considered
