Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring EPIC experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

  • Combination ICU/PCU unit with 16 ICU beds and 14 PCU beds within an acute care hospital
  • Level 3 trauma center
  • ICU nurse to patient ratio of 1:1-2, PCU ratio of 1:3
  • Night shift, 7p-7a schedule with weekends as needed
  • Weekend rotation typically every other weekend, may vary based on need
  • Holiday coverage required as needed
  • No call or standby requirement, though extra shifts may be available
  • Float required between ICU and PCU patients within the unit, travelers first to float
  • Uses EPIC EMR system
  • CNAs on unit at 1:8 ratio supporting patient care
  • In-house Intensivist and Hospitalist coverage 24/7, RT in ICU 24/7
  • Tele monitor techs available on unit; RN must be comfortable reading and interpreting telemetry
  • RNs required to titrate standard ICU drips including vasoactive and sedative medications
  • PCU nurses manage mild titrations including some pressors within written parameters

Requirements

  • Active RN license (ID or Compact) required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • 2 years of ICU experience preferred
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • EPIC EMR experience required
  • Thermoguard/Zoll cooling experience with Targeted Temperature Management (TTM) required
  • Experience managing ventilated, cardiac post-PCI, Impella, IABP, and stroke (TNK) patients
  • Experience with vascular, trauma, EtOH, sepsis, overdose, and CRRT patient populations
  • Driver's license required for consideration
  • Two professional references required: one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
