Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring at least 2 years of CVICU and post-op cardiac experience.
Details
- Work in a 20-bed Pediatric ICU providing care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents with trauma, surgical, respiratory, cardiac, hematology/oncology, and neurologic conditions
- Perform bedside procedures including central line and arterial line placement, lumbar puncture, intubation/extubation, CRRT initiation/discontinuation, ECMO cannulation/decannulation, and chest exploration for patients unable to be transported to the OR
- Utilizes Hamilton G5 ventilators, DirectLink ICP monitors, Arctic Sun targeted temperature management, and Baxter Prismaflex machines
- Epic EMR used for charting
- 3x12 hour day shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
- Weekend work required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required within the hospital to NICU and other pediatric units
- Locals accepted at the same rate
Requirements
- Active RN license (OR license required for consideration)
- BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP preferred
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience with post-op cardiac surgery patients required
- Epic charting experience required
- First-time travelers considered only with 3+ years of relevant PICU experience
- Teaching hospital and Level I trauma center experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to pediatric cardiovascular ICU patients including congenital heart disease and post cardiac surgery cases
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including intensivists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and child life specialists
- Facility is a Magnet-designated, Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and teaching hospital
- Scrubs are provided for OR cases; no printed scrubs allowed
- Must be available to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day)
- All time off requests must be submitted upfront and limited to no more than 2 weeks
- Former OHSU employees or travelers must have a 6+ month gap before returning as a traveler
