Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 2+ years of OR experience, IV skills, and surgical/robotics knowledge.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting within a 15-suite surgical center
• OR handles all procedure types including same day and overnight stays
• Approximately 55-70 cases per day
• Day shift schedule with 8, 10, or 12-hour shift options
• Occasional midnight shifts may be required to support operational demands
• Weekend rotation required including one 8-hour scheduled shift and one 24-hour on-call day
• Second call requirement of 1-2 times per scheduling period, including a 24-hour on-call period from 7A-7A
• Call response time of 30 minutes
• Floating to the OR holding area required

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• IV skills required
• Surgical care knowledge and robotics experience required
• Scrubbing required for preop care only
• Experience with Allscripts EMR preferred (transitioning to EPIC)
• Valid driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide preoperative and surgical center nursing care in a hospital-based (non-freestanding) surgical unit
• Unit/department orientation provided for the surgical center and preop area
• Scrubs provided by the facility
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Holiday coverage may be required as part of the on-call/second call rotation
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Previous WVU Medicine employees must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying
• Travelers cannot work within WVU Medicine facilities for longer than one cumulative year without a 2-year break
