Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg unit requiring EPIC charting and Level 1 Trauma experience within a complex surgical population.
Details
- Surgical Med/Surg unit caring for complex post-operative surgical patients
- Day shift, 7:00a-7:30p, 3x12 schedule, 36 hours per week
- Weekend requirement of 6 shifts within a 6-week period
- Holiday coverage on a rotating basis
- No floating requirements
- Uses EPIC EMR for charting
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience
- ASN required, BSN preferred
- EPIC charting experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Experience with tracheostomy care, ostomy management, and complex wound care including wound vac management
Additional Information
- Provide post-operative care for complex surgical patients, including monitoring new tracheostomies and managing complex wounds and ostomies
- Collaborate with general surgical residency and OMFS residency services
- Complete initial patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date nursing documentation
- Report and correct safety hazards to ensure patient and employee safety
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel rate
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days within the 13-week contract
- Contingent workers may not remain on assignment at this health system for more than 1 year without a required 6-month break in service
- First-time travelers may be considered
