Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN with a CA license and at least 2 years of ED experience for a busy combined adult/pediatric ER.

Details

  • Emergency Department serving a combined adult and pediatric patient population
  • 3x12 variable shifts ranging from 7a-7p, 11a-11p, 3p-3a, and 7p-7a, including nights and days
  • Every other weekend rotation required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Float to other campuses within the health system when census permits, within scope of practice
  • Preferred experience with Epic charting system
  • STEMI and Stroke certified facility

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required
  • Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required unless otherwise noted, with at least 1 year of ED experience
  • Previous charge experience preferred
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Skilled in triage, cardiac monitoring, 12-lead EKG acquisition, and dysrhythmia management
  • Experience with emergency medications and IV therapy/phlebotomy
  • Ability to manage pediatric and adult emergency conditions including trauma, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric cases
  • 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
  • Copies of all certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Deliver competent, compassionate, and cost-effective emergency care in accordance with evidence-based nursing standards
  • Manage a wide range of emergency presentations including pediatric and adult trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and behavioral health cases
  • Complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
  • Maximum of 7 RTO days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
  • Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
  • Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
  • Returning employees must have a minimum 1-year separation to be eligible to return as a traveler
  • First-time travelers considered given required experience is met
