Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Orthopedic/Med-Surg Inpatient position requiring an Illinois RN license, Epic charting experience, and Level 1 Trauma exposure.
Details
- Orthopedic and Medical/Surgical inpatient unit within a hospital setting
- 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 3 days per week
- 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week period
- Rotating holiday coverage required
- Float to similar units as needed
- Utilizes Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
- ASN required, BSN preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Experience with ortho traction and surgical traction devices
- Experience managing wound vacs, drains, pouches, and urological devices
Additional Information
- Assess ortho and medical/surgical patients each shift and develop individualized plans of care
- Educate patients on wound care, mobility, self-care, medication management, and care transition needs
- Coordinate care with physicians and surgeons and delegate tasks to HCT staff
- Set up and manage ortho traction and surgical traction devices for mobility and wound care
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation to support the healthcare team
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
- RTO limited to 7 total days within a 13-week contract
- Candidates with continuous prior assignments exceeding 1 year at this health system must complete a 6-month break before returning
