Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 18 months of experience for a cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology lab.
Details
- Work in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab and electrophysiology (EP) lab
- Day shift schedule of 4x10 hours, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
- On-call requirement of roughly one evening per week and every fourth weekend with a 30-minute response time
- Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is required for all travelers
- Uses Siemens equipment, PACS system, and Cerner charting
Requirements
- Minimum of 18 months of experience in cath lab or EP procedures
- Current ARRT-R and BLS certification
- License required if applicable; must be in hand prior to start date, IN or Compact license accepted
- Cerner charting experience required
- 2 supervisor references required
- Skilled in procedures such as diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, EP studies, cardiac ablation, cardiac mapping, pacemaker insertion, PCI, PTCA, TAVR, Watchman, IABP and Impella placement, and vascular closure systems
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include equipment setup, sterile field maintenance, EKG lead placement, vascular access site prep, room circulating, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
- Must be able to recognize and interpret dysrhythmias and assist with arrhythmia induction and cardioversion
- First-time travelers are accepted
- IN residents are considered local candidates
- Candidates must work 2 of 3 major holidays
- Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
- Past IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Current or past IU Health travelers with 12+ months of travel employment must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility (90 days for out-of-state residents, 180 days for in-state residents)
