Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Freestanding Emergency Department position requiring one year of ED or critical care experience and current ACLS/BLS certification.

Details

• Freestanding Emergency Department setting treating patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
• Provides direct patient care including medication administration, IV and blood product management, phlebotomy, wound cultures, and point-of-care testing
• Performs EKGs and breathing treatments
• Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Delegates tasks to support staff as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum one year of nursing experience required
• Two years of Emergency Department or Critical Care experience preferred
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services

Additional Information

• Delivers competent nursing care under general supervision to an assigned patient group
• Documents patient responses to interventions and treatments, noting changes in physician orders
• Educates patients and families on care plans and discharge procedures
• Makes referrals to appropriate personnel based on patient care needs
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• Compliance documentation must begin immediately upon offer, as start dates cannot be pushed once booked
• Travelers must be booked at least 4 weeks from time of offer to allow for compliance clearance
• Returning travelers may extend contracts only once for a maximum of 26 weeks, followed by a required 6-month separation before reapplying
