Description
American Traveler is hiring an Echo Sonographer with 2+ years of experience and pediatric echo experience for a 13-week acute care assignment.
Details
- Acute care Echocardiography unit within a combined Cath Lab, Echo, and Stress testing area
- 2 procedure rooms plus 1 holding area allowing scanning in up to 3 spaces
- Performs standard echocardiograms and TEEs, with pediatric echo experience highly valued
- Average caseload of 15-20 studies per day
- Uses Epic EMR and PACS with Philips ultrasound equipment
- No floating required outside of Echo and TEE studies
- 10-hour day shifts from approximately 7:00 AM to 3:30 or 5:30 PM depending on schedule
- Coverage required every 3rd Saturday with call every 3rd day
- IV starts handled by cath lab RN, with sonographer teaming up for stress echo studies
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Echo Sonographer
- Pediatric echo experience required
- BLS (AHA) certification required
- RDCS-AE (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, Adult Echocardiography) via ARDMS required
- ARDMS AE and PE certifications considered a plus
- Experience performing standard echocardiograms and TEEs required
- License required if applicable
- Unexpired copy of driver's license required for consideration
- Background check disclosures required at time of consideration
Additional Information
- Scrubs provided
- Works closely with cath lab RN for IV access and stress echo studies
- Reports to the Manager of the Cath Lab
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- Local candidates are not accepted for this position
- Returning WVU Medicine travelers must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying
- Travelers are limited to a maximum of one year cumulative work within WVU Medicine before requiring a 2-year break
- All candidates interview directly with the unit manager
