Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN with 1 year of recent Med Surg and telemetry experience for a 13-week day shift assignment.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit setting
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Orientation held every Monday
• Float to other MS units required if needed, with potential to float to PCU if skills align
• Meditech charting system used, prior experience preferred but not required
• Potential for remote telemetry monitoring responsibilities

Requirements

• Active AZ or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required if floating to PCU
• CPI certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med Surg/Tele acute care experience required
• Telemetry experience required due to potential remote monitoring duties
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
• Experience with oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management preferred
• Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration) and heparin protocols

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a Med/Surg Tele unit, including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Holiday coverage required
• Former permanent employees must wait 12 months before returning as travelers

• RTO should be kept to a minimum at time of consideration
