Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a high-risk unit at a teaching hospital, requiring 2 years of experience and AWHONN Intermediate certification.

Details

• High-Risk Labor & Delivery Unit with 12 private labor/delivery rooms, 6 dedicated OB triage rooms, and 2 on-unit cesarean section operating rooms
• Works closely with the High-Risk Antepartum Unit and Antepartum Unit for continuity of care
• Postpartum and recovery care provided on a separate unit, allowing L&D to focus on acute obstetric and surgical patients
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• Required to work every third weekend
• Call required, consisting of 3 12-hour call shifts per scheduling period
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license (Missouri or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP
• Preferred certifications: AWHONN Advanced, FHM, and STABLE
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• High-risk L&D experience preferred
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Assist with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, circulate and scrub for C-sections, and manage obstetric emergencies including hemorrhage/shock
• Collaborate with on-site Maternal-Fetal Medicine attendings and fellows and an OB/GYN residency program with six residents per class
• Dedicated social work services support patients and families with complex medical and psychosocial needs
• Care for a diverse, high-acuity obstetric population in an academic, multidisciplinary environment
• Scrubs provided
