Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN requiring C-EFM certification and a minimum of 3 years of L&D experience for a day shift assignment.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit within a Baby Friendly certified hospital
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 07:00 to 19:30
- Laboring nurses may be assigned Post Partum patients when needed
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- On-call requirement of 8 hours per 6-week scheduling period
Requirements
- Active MD RN license or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, and C-EFM (through NCC)
- ACLS certification preferred
- 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
- At least 1 previous travel assignment required
- Skilled in labor and delivery management including vaginal and C-section deliveries, high-risk delivery assistance, and fetal monitoring
- Experience with antepartum, postpartum, and pain management procedures including epidural and IV conscious sedation
- Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood products
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum stages
- Recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Follow Baby Friendly hospital protocols for postpartum care
- Scrubs are provided
- Orientation begins on Mondays
- Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
- No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with none allowed during the first two weeks
- Previous MedStar employees must have a minimum one-year separation before returning as a traveler
