Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for a Case Management/Utilization Review role requiring an active CA RN license and 2 years of relevant experience.

Details

• Case Management department setting within an integrated delivery system
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Monday through Friday schedule with no weekends and no call requirement

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent relevant case management experience required
• Broad knowledge of healthcare delivery and case management within a managed care environment
• Comprehensive knowledge of Utilization Review, levels of care, and observation status
• Familiarity with healthcare reimbursement systems (HMO, PPO, PPS, CMS, value-based models) preferred
• Working knowledge of case management regulations including CMS, Title 22, CHA Consent Manual, CDPH, and TJC
• Understanding of post-acute levels of care and related regulatory compliance
• General understanding of coding and DRG assignment process preferred
• Strong verbal, written, and negotiation communication skills
• Excellent time management skills for high-volume, fast-paced environments
• Intermediate computer and technology skills
• Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

• Must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate consideration
• Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Observed holidays include New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
