Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a Level IV NICU offering 12-hour night shifts, requiring 2+ years of Level III-IV NICU experience.

Details

• Level IV NICU within a 152-bed children's hospital attached to an adult hospital with high-risk labor and delivery
• 70 NICU beds with a typical census of around 50 patients
• Private NICU rooms with overflow to Level II Nursery for feeders/growers
• Patient population includes prematurity down to 22 weeks gestation, RDS, high-risk deliveries, feeders/growers, and NAS
• Preferred experience with surgical patients and HIE (Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy)
• Uses Epic EMR
• 12-hour night shifts, either 0700-1930 or 1900-0730
• 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation every other weekend, with rare back-to-back weekends
• Possible floating to ER to act as a sitter, though rare
• No on-call requirements
• Block scheduling may be possible but is not guaranteed

Requirements

• BLS and NRP certifications required
• WA state license required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of Level III-IV NICU experience
• Skilled in respiratory support for ventilators (required)
• Experience with trachs highly preferred but not required
• Proficiency in g-tubes, NG/OG tubes, NCPAP, UAC/UVC management, PICC lines, medication administration, and care planning
• Experience with discharge planning to home
• Travel experience strongly preferred, though first-time travelers will be considered

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care and support for critically ill neonatal patients in a high-acuity NICU setting
• Collaborate with a NICU care team supporting high-risk deliveries and complex patient needs
• Any scrub color permitted
• Candidates should demonstrate a positive, friendly attitude and strong teamwork skills
