Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT) for a Level III trauma center, requiring 2+ years experience and pediatrics experience.
Details
- Short term acute care Level III trauma center with 252 staffed beds, part of Yale New Haven Health System
- Works in Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, NICU, and Pediatrics settings
- 40 hours per week with day and evening shifts (4x10 hour schedules)
- Weekend rotation at least every other weekend and every other holiday based on department need
- Floating to Westerly Hospital as needed
- Uses Epic for charting
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Free parking available
Requirements
- Current BLS certification required
- CRT certification required; RRT preferred
- CT and RI state licenses required (license required if applicable, may start with one active and one pending)
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Pediatrics experience required
- Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment and procedures such as Bubble CPAP, CPAP/Nasal CPAP/BIPAP, intubation assist, and umbilical blood gases preferred
- Skilled in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Experience with airway management, suctioning, and pulmonary hygiene procedures
- Epic charting experience preferred
- 1 professional reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory care and neurodiagnostic support across adult and pediatric patient populations
- Perform ventilator management, airway management, and pulmonary hygiene procedures as part of daily responsibilities
- Assist with high-risk deliveries and provide neonatal/pediatric respiratory support
- Participate in emergency response or natural disaster activities as needed
- Local candidates not accepted; must reside more than 75 miles from the hospital site
- Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required, with medical or religious exemptions only
