Description

American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer for an acute care hospital, requiring at least 1 year of experience and ARDMS certification.

Details

• Acute care hospital with 150 staffed beds
• General ultrasound unit with cross-training in OB/GYN, vascular, small parts, and renal/pelvis studies
• Evening shift, 5x8 hours, 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM
• Uses Epic for charting
• Uses GE, Siemens, and PACS ultrasound equipment
• Potential to float between like units and sister facilities within the health system
• No weekend requirement

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of ultrasound technologist experience required
• ARDMS certification required (AB, BR, FE, or OB/GYN); ARDMS AB, BR, FE, OB/GYN, RDCS-RVT, and ARRT(S) preferred
• BLS certification required
• Compact state license must be in hand at time of consideration, if applicable
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• Skills in OB/GYN scanning (1st, 2nd, 3rd trimester, fetal anatomical survey, nuchal translucency screen preferred, umbilical cord doppler) required
• General ultrasound skills including abdominal aorta, appendix, breast, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, pediatric abdomen/pelvis, and spleen required
• Vascular skills including carotid, doppler studies, and upper/lower extremity arterial and venous studies required
• Experience with renal/pelvis, small parts, and procedure-guided studies (amniocentesis, paracentesis, thoracentesis, ultrasound-guided biopsy/FNA) preferred

Additional Information

• Perform ultrasound exams across adult, emergency department, NICU, and pediatric patient populations, including portable studies
• Black scrub color required for Radiology staff
• Free parking provided on first day, with assignment parking details given during orientation
• First-time travelers are accepted for this role
• Local candidates accepted within 50 miles, at a lower bill rate
• Returning staff may be considered after a 3-month break
• RTO requests must be submitted at time of consideration, with limited flexibility post-offer
• Candidates must be willing to work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Two supervisory references required, covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
