Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring ARRT (R)(CT) certification and Level I Trauma CT experience.

Details

• Work in the CT Scan department of a Magnet-designated, teaching, Level I Trauma hospital with 865 staffed beds
• Adult acute care, outpatient, emergency department, and ICU patient populations
• 3x12 hour day shifts, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM
• Holiday rotation required
• No on-call requirement
• May float within scope of practice to sister facilities as needed
• Uses Siemens CT equipment, PACS, and Sectra

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of CT experience preferred; 6 months of Level I Trauma experience required
• BLS, ARRT (R), ARRT (CT), and SC state license required (license required if applicable)
• Level I Trauma experience required; teaching hospital experience preferred
• Siemens CT equipment experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in image display and post-processing including 3D rendering, MPR, and ROI measurement
• Experience with abdomen/pelvis, chest, head/neck, and spine/musculoskeletal CT studies
• Experience with contrast media preparation/administration, radiation safety, isolation precautions/PPE, and peripheral IV starts
• First-time travelers accepted if they have relevant prior experience
• Must not have pending state license; SC license must be in hand at time of start

Additional Information

• Perform a variety of CT procedures including trauma imaging, vascular studies, and special procedures such as biopsies and aspirations
• Teal top and black scrub bottoms required
• Radiation badge must be provided by the traveler/agency, as the facility does not supply one
• During hurricane season (June–November), all staff may be reassigned to emergency response duties
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for manager approval
• Facility may cancel up to one shift per two weeks
• Radius rule of 60 miles applies; local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least one year before returning as a traveler
