Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a fast-paced Level II Trauma Center requiring TNCC, ENPC, and prior trauma experience.

Details

• Work in a Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric patients
• Handles shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12 hours, 6:45 AM-7:15 PM) on a 36/48 alternating basis, with straight 48s considered
• 12 weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) required per contract
• Cerner charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Level II Trauma Center experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in emergency care across pediatrics, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, and cardiac monitoring
• Experienced in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and medication administration including vasopressors and emergency medications
• Proficient in triage and use of isolation precautions/PPE
• Able to apply splints and manage orthopedic emergencies

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of conditions including cardiac, respiratory, neurological, psychiatric, and traumatic injuries
• Perform 12-lead EKG/ECG interpretation and manage dysrhythmias
• Must work either Thanksgiving and New Year's Day OR Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
• Facility conducts its own mandatory onsite drug screening, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility as local candidates are not accepted
• First-time travelers are not considered for this role due to travel experience requirement
