Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist to perform invasive cardiology and radiology procedures in a Heart & Vascular Institute setting, requiring ARRT registration and IEMA licensure.

Details

• Heart & Vascular Institute Cath Lab setting performing invasive cardiology and invasive radiology studies
• Patient population requires invasive cardiology or invasive radiology procedures
• Performs left and right heart catheterization, coronary stenting, pericardiocentesis, and vascular access under sterile procedure
• Performs structural heart procedures including TAVR, Watchman, Mitraclip, Triclip, ASD/PFO, and CardioMEMS
• Performs hybrid peripheral vascular work in coordination with vascular surgery including EVAR, TCAR, and TEVAR
• Utilizes adjunctive tools including ICUS, FFR/iFR, lithotripsy, laser, rotational atherectomy, Impella, IABP, OCT, and CTO
• EPIC charting experience required
• Day shift schedule of 0730-1700, 4 days per week (36 hours/week)
• Weekend and holiday shifts assigned per department rotation
• On-call duties required, with call responsibilities beginning within 6 months of start

Requirements

• Associate's Degree or Certificate of Completion required
• BLS-AHA and ACLS-AHA certification required
• ARRT Registered in Radiography (R) required
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist - Radiography through the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) required (license required if applicable)
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience required

Additional Information

• Administers contrast material via existing vascular access per physician request and monitors for allergic or hypersensitivity reactions
• Verifies patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and treatment position prior to procedures
• Compiles relevant clinical information including lab and pathology data
• Documents care accurately according to established policies and procedures
• Explains procedures to patients and ensures comfort, safety, and confidentiality throughout care
• Maintains sterile field during procedures and assists with inventory and supply management
• May assist in training new staff as needed
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Travel partners are not accepted for this assignment
