Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring WV or compact RN license, BLS, and NIHSS certification.
Details
- Medical Surgical floor with telemetry capabilities
- Night shift, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:00
- 13-week assignment length
- Utilizes Meditech charting system
- Performs telemetry monitoring both on-unit and remotely
- Utilizes Rapid Response/Code team protocols when needed
Requirements
- Active WV or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- ACLS and CPI certifications preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- Meditech charting system experience required
- Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with feeding tube care and management
- Experience with continuous bladder irrigation (CBI)
- Skilled in blood product administration
- Experience with central line blood draws
- Peripheral line care and management experience
- Phlebotomy skills required
- PICC line management experience
- Skilled in starting and maintaining IVs
- Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration)
- Experience caring for CVA patients
- Experience with port accessing and management
- Two professional references required for consideration
- PDF copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
- Manage patients requiring wound care, including wound vac management
- Administer medications including heparin, insulin, and PCA
- Provide respiratory support including nasal cannula and oxygen administration
- Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
- Complete required lab work within 72 hours of signing contract
- Complete facility orientation and annual training modules
- First-time travelers are not preferred for this assignment
