Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position at a Level 1 Trauma Center teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of RN experience and a WV or compact RN license.

Details

• Work on a 37-bed MS/Tele unit with a diverse adult patient population
• All beds equipped for cardiac monitoring, ranging from uncomplicated to sub-critical conditions, including post-op transplant patients
• 1:5 patient ratios
• Night shift schedule (7pm-7am), weekdays with every other weekend required
• 36 or 48 hour contract options available
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• Uses Cerner charting system

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required (pending license accepted at time of consideration)
• BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Minimum 1+ years of in-specialty MS/Tele experience required
• Strong critical thinking skills and solid MS/Tele background needed
• Minimum 2 Manager or Charge Nurse references from the past 2 years required

• 855 total staffed beds
• Royal blue/white scrub color required for RNs
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 - March 31) unless medical exemption documented; not required outside this window
• COVID vaccine not required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from last permanent employment date before returning as a traveler
• Current employees of Vandalia Health System (including CAMC, Mon Health, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, and Minnie Hamilton Health System) are not eligible for this position
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; those within 75-100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Free parking available for travelers in an attached parking garage
• Manager may accommodate blocked schedule requests depending on unit needs
