Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric ICU RN for a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center requiring at least one year of nursing experience and PALS certification.

Details

• 20-bed Pediatric ICU within a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center
• Patient population includes trauma, general surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, ENT, oncology, solid organ transplant, burn, and various medical specialties
• 8 beds designated for specialized pediatric cardiac care
• Patient ratio of 1:2-3
• Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am
• 36 hours per week over 3 shifts
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Flexibility required to float between the Pediatric ICU and Pediatric Cardiac ICU (PCICU), as these units operate under a shared staffing model

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• PALS certification required
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program required
• BSN or MSN preferred

Additional Information

• Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director
• Coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process in a hospital setting
• Participate in patient/family education, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required
• Contribute to unit performance improvement activities and cost-effective care initiatives
• Holiday coverage required on an every-other-holiday basis
