Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care (IMC) unit position requiring BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications and at least 1 year of unit-specific experience.

Details

• Work in the Intermediate Care (IMC) unit of a hospital
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours, 19:00-17:00
• Float to Intermediate Care and Med-Surg units, with travelers floating first as needed
• Cerner/Oracle Health charting experience preferred but not required

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact or VA) in hand
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• AHA-issued BLS accepted
• Minimum 1 year of experience in the unit specialty required; 2-3 years overall experience preferred
• BSN not required
• Candidates with pending certifications will be considered

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care within the Intermediate Care unit, delivering a level of monitoring between ICU and general medical-surgical care
• Biweekly orientation occurs on Mondays
• 8-10 hours of orientation and annual modules required, varying by specialty
• Scrubs may be any color with a professional appearance; child-friendly print tops and scrub/lab coats allowed
• Nicotine-free campus
• Expect to work some holidays in rotation with staff
• RTO must be approved prior to assignment start, with a preference for no RTO in the first weeks of the assignment
• Must reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Former permanent employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
