Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric CVICU RN for a 13-week assignment requiring PALS certification and NC or Compact RN license in hand.

Details

• Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU setting at a teaching hospital
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00-19:30), 4x12 hour schedules also accepted
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Bi-weekly orientation schedule

Requirements

• Active RN license - NC or Compact license required in hand
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skills in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and care of ventilated patients
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and post cardiac surgery care preferred
• Congenital heart disease/repair and ECMO experience preferred
• CRRT, hemodialysis, and renal failure management skills preferred
• IV therapy, central line care, and arterial line management skills
• 1 supervisory reference from within the last year required for consideration
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to pediatric cardiovascular ICU patients including those with congenital heart disease and post cardiac surgery needs
• Flu vaccination required with no exemptions or declinations accepted
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a reduced rate
• RTO must be limited to 5-7 days maximum
• Previous permanent employment history at this health system must be disclosed, and candidates must not have been permanent employees within the past 6 months
