Description

American Traveler is hiring a General Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer with 2+ years of experience and ARDMS certification for an evening shift assignment at an acute care hospital.

Details

• General diagnostic ultrasound department at an acute care hospital
• Performs general studies with no full vascular studies except when performed alongside general studies
• Performs focused vascular studies such as lower extremity DVT rule-outs in the Vascular Lab
• No full breast/mammography scans, though may perform axilla or breast scans on ED patients
• NICU baby head scans and first trimester OB scans
• Performs procedures including thoracentesis, paracentesis, kidney, and liver biopsies
• Uses Philips ultrasound equipment and PACS system
• Epic EMR required
• Evening shift, 5x8 hours, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday
• Alternating weekend schedule with possible call/standby
• Standby call rotation Saturday 1500-0700 and Sunday 1500-0700
• No floating between like units required

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• BLS and ARDMS certification required (RDMS AB, OB, or B)
• RDMS-BR certification preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Prior travel experience required
• Familiarity with Trophon High Level Disinfection preferred
• Compact state license must be in hand at time of submission
• License required if applicable
• Skills should include OB/GYN (1st, 2nd, 3rd trimester), fetal anatomical survey, general abdominal ultrasound, small parts, and renal/pelvic imaging
• Experience with ultrasound-guided biopsy/fine needle aspiration procedures

Additional Information

• Beachside acute care hospital with 266 staffed beds
• Scrubs provided for OR/L&D/Cath Lab; RN scrubs are navy blue
• May be expected to float between sister facilities within the same state
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
• Returning former employees must wait at least 3 months and reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a lower bill rate
• RTO requests must be submitted at time of submittal with minimal flexibility post-offer
• Candidates must be willing to commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years are required
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility
