Description

American Traveler is hiring an ER RN for a fast-paced 11-bed medical ED with an integrated CPEP unit, requiring an active NY license, 1 year of ER experience, and EPIC proficiency.

Details

• Work in an 11-bed medical Emergency Department with a separate CPEP unit staffed by ED nursing and PCT staff
• CPEP unit includes an evaluation space for up to 6 patients and an Extended Observation space for up to 2 patients
• CPEP patients are triaged and medically cleared before entering, requiring only labs or EKG monitoring
• Staff typically work 6-hour blocks in the CPEP space on day/mid shifts, while night shift staff may work full 12-hour blocks
• Security is posted within the ED at all times
• Night and mid-shift rotation, working 1900-0700 or 1100-2300
• Every other weekend required
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Floating required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required
• CPI, TNCC, TRUST, and CPIM certifications preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent ER experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Experience with pediatric and adult emergency care preferred
• Skills in psychiatric emergencies, IV therapy, respiratory management, and cardiac monitoring preferred

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across general adult/pediatric ED and integrated CPEP behavioral health areas
• Collaborate with PCTs and CPEP behavioral health team members
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Candidates with more than 10 days of requested time off will not be considered
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Previous employees may be considered only if separated from the facility for at least 6 months
• Call-off policy allows up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment; being placed on call in lieu of being called off counts as a called-off shift
