Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position split between inpatient rehab and oncology units, requiring 2 years of Med/Surg experience and an active NC or compact RN license.

Details

• Position split between inpatient rehabilitation and inpatient oncology units as needed
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years Med/Surg experience required (oncology experience not required)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy/infusions, port access and management, central line care, and PICC line care
• Experience with pain management including IV push narcotics and PCA pump management
• Wound care and colostomy/ileostomy management skills
• Ability to recognize and communicate abnormal lab values and manage oncologic emergencies including sepsis
• Experience with post-surgical care and symptom management

Additional Information

• Provide patient care across inpatient rehab and oncology units including medication administration, wound care, and psychosocial support
• Deliver patient and family education and support
• Recognize and manage side effects of biotherapy and chemotherapy when applicable
• Candidates residing in Moore County are not eligible for this travel position
• Former FirstHealth Medical Center employees must have been separated from employment for at least one year to be considered
• Facility performs its own pre-employment drug screening upon arrival in addition to standard credentialing requirements
