Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for an acute care hospital setting, requiring 2 years of acute hospital case management experience and prior travel experience.

Details

• Acute hospital Case Management/Utilization Review department
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to like units required based on facility need
• Uses Epic charting system
• Accepts local candidates within a 50-mile radius

Requirements

• Active CA RN license (Compact license must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of acute hospital case management experience performing care coordination and discharge planning
• Prior travel nursing experience required, though first-time travelers may be considered with clinical approval
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with admission criteria, appeals and denials, benefits eligibility, care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment/DME orders, and prior authorizations
• Knowledge of CMS, DRG, HIPAA guidelines, and Joint Commission/Core Measure/National Safety Goals
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment, DME orders, and prior authorizations
• May involve worker's compensation case management and regulatory compliance duties
• May float between sister facilities within the same health system based on need
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of submittal; post-submission RTO requests may not be accommodated
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Candidates should not contact facility staff directly regarding the position
• Located in Eureka, California, near multiple state and national parks with access to coastal and redwood forest scenery
