Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a CA RN license and at least 1 year of ER experience.

Details

• General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
• STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
• Approximately 135 visits per day with 20 rooms and 26 beds
• Average daily census of 105 patients
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
• Weekend requirement of 3 out of every 6 weekends
• Floating required, including coverage of the Observation Unit for ER Hold patients
• 1:4 patient ratio

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in hand at time of submission
• Pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
• Preferred certification: ENPC
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skills in triage, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with a wide range of ER presentations including trauma, psychiatric, respiratory, and neurological emergencies

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across a broad range of adult and pediatric cases including trauma, psychiatric, respiratory, and neurological emergencies
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests limited to no more than 7 days and must be submitted upfront
• May only be submitted to one Providence facility at a time
• Former Providence permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period but must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
• Two supervisory references required, covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years
• Scrubs may be self-provided but must not include prints
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Travel experience is not required
