Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications with a MO or compact RN license.

Details

• Medical Telemetry unit caring for cardiac and post-surgical patients requiring closer cardiac observation
• RN/Patient ratio of 5:1
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7p-7a
• Every other weekend rotation may be required
• Uses EPIC charting system
• Cardiac monitoring for hemodynamically stable dysrhythmias, suspected non-STEMI, and post-PTCA patients
• Manages cardiac and vasoactive drips including Diltiazem and Metoprolol
• Cares for patients post pacemaker or defibrillator placement or ablation
• Assists with physician-performed procedures including thoracentesis, paracentesis, central line insertion, bone marrow aspiration, and chest tube insertion
• Blocked scheduling may be discussed with the manager, though not guaranteed in the contract

Requirements

• Active MO State or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• IV start and telemetry skills required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Two professional references required for consideration
• PDF copies of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide routine nursing assessments and vital sign monitoring every 8 hours
• Administer routine finger stick blood sugar checks
• Monitor patients receiving blood transfusions or fluid boluses for blood pressure maintenance
• Black scrub color required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
