Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring a ND or compact license and 2 years of med/surg experience.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting on a Med/Surg Float unit (61 combined beds)
• Cares for surgical patients (total joints, fractures, bariatric, urology, general) and medical patients (CHF, CVA, SOB, diabetic issues)
• Patient ratios of 1:5 days and 1:6 nights, with nurse aide support at 1:15
• Uses EPIC EMR
• Telemetry monitoring available with monitor techs reading strips and RN confirmation
• Uses respiratory equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow
• 12-hour day shifts with every other weekend and every other holiday required
• On-call/standby requirement with low census day (LCD) provisions
• First to float among staff, with floating required across the unit
• 48 hours per week

Requirements

• Active ND or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of med/surg RN experience required
• No BSN required
• Skills and experience should align with standard med/surg unit requirements
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to surgical and medical patients on a float pool basis across med/surg units
• Any scrub color permitted
• Unit-specific orientation includes Travel CBO and a float checklist
• Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year
• Candidates previously employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
