Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position at a community hospital requiring telemetry experience and MO or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a community hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend schedule required
• Floating required, including to MS/Tele units and as needed within the organization
• Cerner charting system preferred
• Skills utilized include IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, and administration of heparin, insulin, and PCA
• Cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and Rapid Response/Code team response required

Requirements

• Active MO or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs
• Ability to work in a healthcare facility open 24/7, including rotating shifts and during inclement weather

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit, including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• 50% holiday coverage required, including Christmas Day and New Year's Day
• Routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for consideration
• Candidates residing 51-74 miles away may be offered a local rate
