Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist for a Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab, requiring 2+ years of experience and at least one prior travel assignment.

Details

• Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab setting
• Adult and geriatric patient population with diagnoses including CAD, PVD, and cancer
• Staffing ratio of 1:5
• 4x10 hour day shifts, 6:30 AM-5:00 PM and/or 7:00 AM-5:30 PM, 40 hours weekly
• No call, no weekends, and no major holidays required
• Special procedures include Interventional Peripheral, Diagnostic Cardiovascular, Bone Marrow Harvest, and Interventional Pulmonary

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years required
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• BLS, ACLS, ARRT CI, ARRT VI, and CCI RCIS certifications required (ARRT or RCIS accepted)
• License required if applicable
• Experience with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures including left and right heart catheterization, PPI, temporary pacemakers, and AICD insertion/programming
• Skilled in angioplasty, aortography, pelvic angiography, pulmonary arteriography, stent placement, and dialysis graft interventions
• Proficient in upper and lower extremity angiography and fluoroscopy
• Experience with EKG lead placement, hemodynamic monitoring, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
• Ability to scrub, circulate, and maintain sterile technique
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and rapid response team protocols
• Charting system experience required (any EMR accepted)
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include equipment setup, supply stocking, access site preparation, and accurate patient monitoring during procedures
• Perform both scrub and circulator roles during cath lab procedures
• Candidates must complete facility-specific training modules within one week of signing their contract
• Labs and drug screening appointments must be completed within 48 hours of signing
• Candidates in cardiac and related specialties must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with at least 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
• Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a lower rate
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
