Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a night shift assignment requiring an active NY RN license and EPIC charting experience.

Details

• Work in a 24/7 Emergency Department with a dedicated pediatric ED and trauma suite
• Adult and geriatric patients with all emergency type diagnoses including CVA, neuro-trauma, and ortho trauma
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 7p-7a
• Every other weekend and every other holiday requirement
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Floating required within skillset
• Uses specialized equipment including Bair Hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment

Requirements

• Active NY Single State RN license required in hand (NY is not compact)
• Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; PALS and TNCC preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with IV vasopressors, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilator management
• Experience managing CVA, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and TBI patients
• Cardiac monitoring skills including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and 12 lead EKG/ECG
• Experience with emergency care for adult and pediatric patients, including gunshot wounds and ortho trauma
• Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE and triage

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of adult and pediatric emergency diagnoses
• Work in a Magnet-recognized, Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center within a 528-bed academic teaching hospital
• Facility is affiliated with Cleveland Clinic and Roswell Park
• Facility may cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract without incurring charges
• Scrub color requirement: any combination of navy blue and white
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted for RN positions
• Previous staff may only return after a 6-month system-wide break
